Service Considerations

When providing any service, there are always a few variables. When working with nature, and particularly something as fluid as a lake or pond, those variables tend to increase. The list provided here covers some of these areas of concern.

Importance of early detection and treatment.

  • As soon as the problem is detected, take action! If treatment is needed, the early detection and early action will save you money.
  • Contact us quickly to get on the schedule. The faster we can learn of the problem and take appropriate action, the better for you, your lake, and your pocketbook.
  • Delay your decision as little as possible. While the decision is being made, the weeds will still be growing.
  • Do not delay the treatment. Delay in treatment, could result in added cost.

Price considerations:

If you are considering one of our services, and we offer a quote, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Prices reflect the cost of chemicals at the time of the quote. Obviously, if chemical prices rise, the cost will be higher.
  • Prices will reflect standard chemicals used for this type of service. These will be the chemicals we have found to be most effective. If other chemicals are needed, or requested, the price will vary accordingly. Some of the products currently on the market exceed the entire cost of our normal service for the same acreage.
  • Prices will also be adjusted for distance, and other factors.
  • The prices are for the area treated, not for the entire body of water.
  • Prices are per surface acre of the area treated
  • Treatments requiring more chemical will be adjusted according to chemical cost.

Re treatment:

  • In some cases, re treatment may be needed in 10 to 14 days. This usually occurs under optimal growing conditions where severe infestation was present.

Weed density:

  • In cases of total infestation, and high weed density, more than one treatment may be needed in order for the chemical to penetrate the weed mass.

Complete infestation of lakes:

  • In cases requiring the treatment of the entire area, from 1/4 to 1/2 half of the area will need to be treated per treatment with a 10 to 14 day interval. This is because too much dying vegetation will kill fish. Rotting vegetation uses high levels of oxygen, without which, fish will die! In such cases, a trip fee may be applied for the second treatment, depending on travel distance.

Treatment outside our service area:

  • For treatments outside our normal service area, we will charge for mileage.

Prevention of regrowth:

  • It is important that after the treatment, steps be taken to prevent re growth. In most cases, this will involve the testing of pH, and nutrient adjustment. This is liming and fertilizing. Having the proper amount of plankton suspended in the water, will reduce light penetration, and decrease weed growth. If this is needed, and not done, the plants will return!
